My Husband Brutally Cheated on Me When I Was Freshly Postpartum, My Revenge Is Coming Now

They say revenge is best served cold, and when your spouse cheats, for some people, it’s the only choice. It’s hard to get back at a cheating partner without also getting hurt.

Anna, 36, shared her story about being betrayed during one of the most important moments of a couple’s life. Her husband cheated on her while she was giving birth. In her letter, Anna explained how she got through those hard times, found peace, and taught her husband a big lesson.

Anna and her husband Daniel were happily expecting their first child. After 10 years of marriage, Anna faced a choice: forgive or seek revenge. She chose revenge.

Anna began her letter, saying, “My story might seem complicated to some, and I expect people will judge me for what I’ve done to my husband, who I once loved with all my heart. My life was turned upside down in one day, and 6 years later, I’ve been living with the man who betrayed me. I did it on purpose, for revenge, and I don’t regret it.”

She continued, “I met Daniel when I was 19, and he was 21. I fell in love with him right away; he was the man of my dreams. He proposed on my 20th birthday after just a few months of dating. I said ‘yes’ without hesitation, and it was the happiest moment of my life.”

“Our marriage had its ups and downs, but we stayed loving and caring. We struggled to have a baby, but after years of trying, we were overjoyed when the pregnancy test came back positive.”

“My pregnancy was high-risk, and I felt terrible during all 9 months. But the joy and excitement made it worth it. Daniel was so caring—he cooked for me, sang to me when I couldn’t sleep, and held me when I felt sick. I was so happy to have him with me.”

“When I was rushed to the hospital at 38 weeks, it was stressful. Daniel was with me, but when I was taken to the delivery room, he said he didn’t want to be there for the birth of our daughter. The labor was long and hard—8 hours—and I didn’t see or feel his presence at all, which hurt. But I focused on giving birth, and finally, my sweet daughter Elsa was born.”

“When I woke up after the delivery, I immediately asked where Daniel was. The nurses said he left the hospital as soon as I went into the delivery room. I felt betrayed in that moment, but I still hoped he had a good reason for his behavior.

Anna wrote, “I tried to call Daniel many times, but he didn’t answer. Hours later, he came to the hospital, acting like nothing was wrong, and held our daughter for the first time. I asked him why he left the hospital during the most important moment, and he said he felt stressed and sick and didn’t want me to get worried, so he went home, took some medicine, and fell asleep.

When I came home with our baby, things were already bad between me and Daniel. He was cold and distant, except when he was playing with the baby. He felt like a stranger to me.”

“A few days later, I got a message from a fake account on Facebook. It had a video from a security camera showing Daniel and another woman entering our house. The date and time were the same as the night I was giving birth. The video also showed them going to the balcony, almost undressed. I knew who the woman was — a coworker. That’s how I found out my husband had an affair. He was with her in our house on the night I gave birth.”

Anna continued, “My heart was broken after finding out about Daniel’s betrayal. But even though I was in pain, I didn’t tell him that I knew. I kept living with him and raising our daughter together as if nothing had happened. For 6 years, I planned my revenge, and now I’ve done it. Daniel’s father was very rich and died before we became parents. He left everything to our daughter in his will, but she could only inherit it after she turned 6. Now that 6 years have passed, my daughter is the heir to all her grandfather’s money, and I used this to hurt Daniel more than he hurt me.”

“I told him that his daughter isn’t his. I lied, saying I was with another man and cheated on Daniel, then got pregnant. My husband was completely devastated when he thought I had betrayed him (which is a lie), and that the child who isn’t his got all his dad’s fortune.

Now, I live in another town with my daughter. I haven’t spoken to Daniel in 4 months. I did this because I want him to feel the pain of betrayal, just like I did 6 years ago. One day, I’ll tell him the truth, but for now, I want him to suffer and learn a hard lesson. I feel bad about my choice, but I don’t regret it because he’ll know the truth soon. Does this make me a bad person?
