Hailie Jade Mathers Scott’s fiancé revealed what it was like to ask for iconic rapper Eminem’s blessing to marry his daughter, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Scott.

The 27-year-old’s longtime boyfriend Evan McClintock finally popped the all-important question earlier this month following six years of dating.

“Over the holidays, I was looking for an opportunity not to make it too obvious,” McClintock, 27, explained during the latest episode of his fiancée’s “Just a Little Shady”podcast.

Admitting he was thinking about proposing since last summer, it wasn’t until February 4 that McClintock finally got down on one knee

And since the rapper’s daughter’s birthday is on Christmas Day, he revealed that it was the perfect time to steal Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, away for a moment to ask him for his blessing.

“I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time,’” McClintock recalled.

“So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and I made it happen.”

But searching for the perfect ring was a whole different task altogether.

McClintock said that while he began to snoop around for the perfect diamond sparkler during Thanksgiving, he found the perfect ring thanks to Hailie’s sister, Alaina Marie Scott.

“The day after my birthday, you got it? That’s crazy,” Hailie said, adding that she had “no idea” he was heading out to look at rings.

“It’s funny, so your sister really helped me out,” McClintock added. “She basically told me what for sure not to get.”

“That’s all I told her, so it makes sense,” she quipped.
